Keep It And They Will Come

On a recent episode of
American Pickers,
Mike and Frank
were discussing
 with a widow,
 the vast collection of items
left behind, with the passing
of her husband.

The widow states,
"I just didn't have
any idea, he had all
this stuff."

I turned to Mr Magpie
and said,
"You will be saying those
words one day."

I have come to the conclusion that

has given

a reason to believe!

Love to all,
Deb

Ha-ha! You know, I keep thinking about that. I really need to get organized around here because if something were to happen to me, no one would care about any of this stuff. And no one will want to get through all my drawers, cupboards, etc. figuring out what to do with everything. I really need to sort, purge, organize. Maybe I'll start tomorrow. :) Tammy

I'm right there with you Deb, my husband is a hoarder, and I have a feeling if he goes first, I'm in for a huge clean up. I already told him if that happens, I'm getting a dumpster! We love American Pickers, watch it faithfully!

You're so funny Deb! I love that show. I'm always amazed at what some of those people accumulate...and how great lots of their stuff is! I'd love to rummage thru some of those old musty barns myself...what an adventure that would be! :)

How funny! I love to watch American Pickers and also another show called Cash Cowboys. However, they would never find my things worth grabbing! LOL

You know they are from Iowa? We enjoy that show too. I don't think I quite reach to collecting of just stuff though, because mine is all going to be used before I die (ha ha ha). My mom is still finding stuff dad had tucked away and organized. T isn't a collector of anything except Hard Rock t-shirts from our travels. I'm the bad one.

Amen, sister! I married a hoarder and I have to confess to being one also. I told my brother who will be in charge of all our worldly goods...open the door and throw in a match!!! It's too much to sort. We have so many collections and supplies! But, we love it all!

Hi, Deb. Ain't it the truth? I keep trying to thin things out, but stuff just keeps multiplying. I've gotten lazy this summer with the heat. I'm afraid to even look at the piles! Enjoyed the visit of your work spaces--what organization! Hope you're staying cool!
best, nadia

We are in the early days of discussing my husband retiring and moving south. I look at how much stuff we have stored in our storage room and all the stuff we have all over this house and I have no idea how we will ever do it. The kids don't want much of anything and yet so much of what we have are family things from both sides that we feel somehow responsible to keep. Ugh. Stuff, stuff and more stuff.

Hello Deb. I am catching up with my friends. I see I have missed a bit of your posting. I absolutely LOVE seeing all the spaces your creativity spells over too. Pretty neat. I especially love the bedroom which became your creative room. Your antique rose chair is very lovely as is your whole space. I hope all is well. Miss Ya. Hugs Judy

How funny..and it runs in families.

My grandmother had a bumper sticker "He who dies with the most fabric wins" she worked very hard before she died. I have taken over and will win, due to absorbing her fabric and adding my own!

Have a great week,
Dana
